It was a nervous time in the Diocese of Derby on Monday, 21 June. Back in 2005, the cathedral appointed a new dean, Martin Kitchen; he lasted a year, before taking another year to vacate the deanery after a substantial pay-off. In 2008 another dean, Jeff Cuttell, lasted little over a year before departing. On 21 June, the next dean, John Davies, was announced. Only for the email announcement to be withdrawn after four minutes. Latest rumours suggest he may hang on – we wish him well.

Prayer Vigils for the General Synod Debate on Women Bishop’s Legislation are taking place across the country, supported by FiF, Watch, SCP, MCU, Affirming Catholicism, Reform, and others.
