Action for Marriage

Action for Marriage, a coalition of those concerned to uphold the Christian ideal of marriage as a lifelong union, invites clergy of the Church of England to respond to the present proposals to alter the marriage discipline of the Church by signing the following declaration and returning this advertisement to the address below:

We the undersigned, being priests Beneficed or Licensed to serve, or with Permission to Officiate within the Church of England, hereby DECLARE that, should the General Synod finally approve the revision of the Convocation Resolutions (prohibiting the use of the Marriage Service where a former spouse is still living), we would be unable to operate a marriage discipline in which the decision as to whether or not to solemnise a marriage after divorce rests solely with the parochial clergy.
